Argyll R. Parsons Jr.
Argyll Rosse Parsons Jr. was born on May 4, 1913, in Garden City, New York, to Eleanor Hartshorn Peters, age 28, and Argyll Rosse Parsons, age 32. He had three brothers Douglas, William and Ralph. In Rye his family lived on Guion Road and were members of Christ's Church.
Before the war Argyll was living in Philadelphia working for the the PA Greyhound Lines. He enlisted on August 6, 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Ethel K Slaving in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on August 25, 1943, when he was 30 years old. Argyll served with the Army Corps of Engineers in England and France.
Argyll lost two of his three brothers while they were in service. His brother William Goodman Parsons died on February 25, 1944, while flying a P-38 escort plane in a bombing mission over Austria. His brother Ralph Peters Parsons died on January 6, 1948 the result of an airplane crash in Germany with the Occupational Forces.
Argyll Rosse Parsons died on November 16, 1999, in Marietta, Georgia, when he was 86 years old.
